Free media conversion software

Hello everyone--

I subscribe to something called Give Away of the Day (http://www.giveawayoftheday.com), and each 24 hours, they let you download and install software for free that you would otherwise have to buy. A lot of the stuff they make available isn't always crash hot, but today's download might be of interest to you.

It's a media converter that converts the following file types: "WMA, WMV, ASF and other video/audio: WMA, M4A, AAC, AC3, WAV, MP3, WMV, ASF to MP3, WAV, AAC, MP4, AVI, FLV, 3GP, etc." I don't know how good the software is, but a converter I downloaded from this same giveaway promo site at the start of the year has been fantastic.

I just thought I'd let you know about it--you need to download and *install* it (for PCs only, not Macs) within the next 18 hours though.

Hi Professor Knobel,

I am glad I checked our blog today. I downloaded the converter, but I do not think it is compatiable with Windows XP. I was trying to add the documents I wanted converted, but I could not choose the correct file type. No worries though. I think I am going to buy the Replay Converter. I tested it out and it worked well in MovieMakers. Unfortunately, it had the watermark so I have to buy it. =) I think the Give Away of the Day is awesome. Hopefully, some others will be able to use it.
Thanks!

Thank you for this website. I missed the day for the converter, but I subscribed, and am hoping to collect a lot of good, free "stuff". Thanks again!

What shame you couldn't get the freebie to work on your computer, Nancy. I have Windows XP and it worked just fine on mine. Did you register it within the timeframe for doing so? (You ignore the "buy it now" option, then click on a "register" file within the unzipped files you downloaded).
